As Told By Ellie is a greeting card brand rooted in nostalgia, humor, honesty, and saying the thing people are actually thinking.
I’ve always been drawn to old things. Vintage typography. Dog-eared books. Paper that feels substantial in your hands. The kind of humor that’s sharp, observant, a little inappropriate, and somehow still heartfelt. Writing has always been my thing, and greeting cards became the perfect place to blend all of it together.
There’s something endlessly funny to me about taking an intrusive thought, a painfully honest observation, or a deeply affectionate insult and printing it on a legitimate greeting card for someone to proudly hand to a loved one.
Visually, the brand is inspired by retro design, bold colors, playful patterns, and the feeling of finding something oddly specific and perfect in a little neighborhood gift shop.
The cards are funny, thoughtful without being cheesy, occasionally unhinged, and designed for people who still believe good mail matters. Because a text disappears. A card ends up on the fridge for six months.
